Finally, it’s the adults’ turn!
Have you ever thought that puppet theatre could be your playground, too?
Absolute Puppet Theatre is a new monthly programme series at Budapest Puppet Theatre, where there’s no prior knowledge required, no pressure to perform, and no need for any previous puppetry experience – all you need is curiosity and willingness to play.
The three-hour sessions focus on creating, playing and experimenting. We work with puppets, objects, different situations and theatrical tools, while exploring, trying things out, making mistakes and discovering new possibilities together.
This is not a course and not a permanent group: each session is a standalone programme, with tickets sold separately. Whether you join us for just one evening or come back month after month, you’ll always encounter a new theme and new creative partners.
From October to May, each month brings a new theme and a new creative partner. The sessions are led by Viktória Végvári, joined by artists from Budapest Puppet Theatre.
First session: 15 October – Stereotypes of Puppetry with Edina Ellinger
In November, Károly Hoffer joins the series with a new theme and a fresh, playful approach.
Important: Please come dressed in clothes that are comfortable for moving, playing and creating!

When: From October 2026, every third Thursday of the month
Duration: 3 hour
Group size: Maximum 15 participants per session
Participation: Individual tickets, either occasionally or on a regular basis
Ticket price: HUF 8,000 / person / session
Venue: Budapest Puppet Theatre, Kemény Henrik Stage
By purchasing a ticket and attending the event, the participant acknowledges and consents to the Budapest Puppet Theatre using recordings made at the event for promotional and communication purposes.
